A major operation targeting smuggling at petrol stations is being carried out by the Greek FBI across Greece.

Anti-organized crime officers conducted operations at gas stations and fuel storage facilities in Attica, Thessaloniki, Arta, Trikala, Larissa, Katerini, Volos, and Laconia. Police have reportedly already made 15 arrests.

Those arrested are expected to be charged with fuel smuggling, tax evasion, and cheating drivers as they were putting less fuel in their cars than the amount indicated on the pumps.

According to the same information, interference software was found in the input-output systems at several of the stations checked.
