EuroBasket 2025: Djokovic’s “Let’s go” to Antetokounmpo

Giannis Antetokounmpo posted a photo from the quarterfinal against Lithuania, and Novak Djokovic made sure to send his own message

Newsroom September 10 04:25

At the presentation of Marko Nikolić, Marios Iliopoulos shouted “Idemo” — the Serbian word for “Let’s go” — to the Serbian coach, who heard the cheer in his native language.

Today, another Serb made sure to send the same message to Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Greek Freak posted on his social media accounts a photo from yesterday’s game against Lithuania, writing simply “Riga” (the capital of Latvia, where the EuroBasket 2025 final phase is taking place). In the picture, he held up two fingers, clearly symbolizing the two games left before he could wear his first medal with the Greek national basketball team.

Among those who commented on the photo was Novak Djokovic, who, along with celebratory emojis, wrote in Greek: “Pame” (“Let’s go”).
