Ms. Lisa Battenheim, Special Representative of the Secretary-General and Chief of Mission of UNFICYP met with Cyprus President Nikos Anastasiadis and Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu.

Ms. Battenheim stated that the two leaders are willing and able to continue and submit their stance and opinions on all matters concerning the negotiations. She mentioned that an agreement on two meetings per month schedule, has been put into place. The first pair of meetings will be taking place on June 23rd and July 7th.

The UNFICYP representative forewent going into details, only stating that the two leaders decided to reactivate the appropriate committees on specific issues that could eventually lead to a solution of the Cyprus issue.

President of Cyprus Nikos Anastasiadis refused to make any statements upon his return to is presidential offices.
