A plane was forced to make an emergency landing at Heraklion Airport while flying over Crete on Wednesday night.
According to reports, the incident occurred around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday when the control tower at “Nikos Kazantzakis” airport received a signal for an emergency landing from a flight operating the UK–Egypt route.
It was discovered that a 38-year-old British woman on board was out of control after consuming large amounts of alcohol.
After the Heraklion airport police were notified, the woman was arrested upon landing.
The plane later took off again and continued its scheduled route without further issues.
