Fifty two films by the 83-year-old director will be screened from 5 to 18 June in Lais open-air cinema, on the roof of the Greek Film Archive Foundation.

“A story should have a beginning, a middle and an end, but not necessarily in that order,” said once Jean Luc Godard, one of the world’s most discussed, interviewed and quoted film-makers.

The Greek Film Archive celebrates the work of the great director by presenting the most comprehensive retrospective ever held in Greece. Fifty two films by the 83-year-old director (13 shorts, 5 medium length films and 33 features) will be screened from 5 to 18 June in Lais open-air cinema, located on the Greek Film Archive Foundation.

“Maintenant Godard” retrospective includes Godard’s most famous films, such as “Breathless” (1960), “Alphaville” (1965), “Le Petit Soldat”, “Contempt”, “The Soldiers” (1963), “Band of Outsiders” (1964) etc and other films by the director that will be screened for the first time in Greece, such as his first short film “Operation Concrete” (1955) and “Histoire (s) du cinema” (1998)
