In his statements, the Cypriot president mentioned that there are advanced discussions on all energy matters with both American companies and neighboring countries.
Specifically, in response to a journalist’s remark that U.S. interest in energy matters appears stronger—highlighted by today’s agreement signed in Greece involving American interests—and when asked whether this increased U.S. interest would extend to the Cyprus issue, President Christodoulides said that at the level of consultations with American companies and neighboring states, there are quite advanced discussions underway.
He noted that these discussions cover all energy issues and that “we will soon have specific announcements.”
