An Athens special court prosecutor on Wednesday recommended a guilty verdict for former PASOK FinMin Giorgos Papakonstantinou on two felony counts related to his handling of the so-called “Lagarde list”.

The two felony charges are falsification of a public document and breach of faith.

Specifically, he has been charged with removing the names of three of his relatives from the list of Greek depositors in the Geneva branch of HSBC, a charge that he adamantly denies.

Then French FinMin and current IMF chief Christine Lagarde turned over a CD with the list of 2,062 Greek depositors to Papaconstantinou’s office.
