SYRIZA, the main opposition party, lashed out at the government due to its sudden decision to end early Parliament’s full plenary sessions, accusing Mr Samaras of anti-democratic procedures which have specific purposes.
The leadership of SYRIZA is expected to raise the tone of attacking in the upcoming period and to insist on the need for early elections. SYRIZA will demand early elections even more frequently from now on, as it argues that the parties of the coalition government did not receive the message of the elections and continue the same policy. As some members of SYRIZA note, the government continues unrepentant the same practices and the same anti-democratic methods.
According to SYRIZA the government reshuffle does not mean substantial change in government policy, as it would only changes persons and roles. This is only a communicative move, which does not concern the society, nor leads to any improvement.
Regarding the early ending of Parliament’s full plenary sessions, SYRIZA says that the government is in panic and attempts desperately to control the required votes on new measures and prerequisites of tranches through the controlled majorities in summer sessions.
