National Basketball team: Papanikolaou and Kostas Antetokounmpo included in the squad for Portugal

Greece faces Portugal this Sunday at 7:00 PM in Porto

Newsroom November 28 05:30

The Kostas Antetokounmpo kicked off their long journey toward the FIBA World Cup 2027 with a strong performance, defeating Romania at Alexandreio with an impressive display. Their next challenge is in Porto against Portugal (Sunday, 30/11, 19:00). Despite playing a game and traveling to Athens just the day before, the team began preparing for this matchup with a training session at SEF today.

Tomorrow morning, the squad will depart for Portugal, where they will face the team that started their campaign with a stunning away win against Montenegro. The roster will feature new additions compared to the first game. Captain Kostas Papanikolaou and Kostas Antetokounmpo joined the team today, as planned, following their EuroLeague game with Olympiacos. Naz Mitrou-Long joins in opposition to his brother Elijah, who made his debut yesterday, while Nasos Bazinas has also been included in the 12-man roster.
