With her recent statements, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has made clear that her government is not guided by surveys on opposition to keeping Greece in the euro zone, Bloomberg reports.
An article published by the news agency states that Merkel seems prepared to “ride out German voters discontent to try to keep Greece in the euro,” under the condition that Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras presents an economic plan that adds up.
“My political actions do not rely on the polls, which vary significantly, but rather on whether Greece will be able to fulfill the expectations that we all have,” the German Chancellor said yesterday from Helsinki during her official visit to Finland.
