A deterioration of the weather with locally heavy rains and storms is expected from the evening hours today, Tuesday, in the Ionian Sea region.

Tomorrow, Wednesday, the strong phenomena will gradually extend over the entire western part of the country, areas of central and northern mainland Greece, and the islands of the northern and eastern Aegean.

A weakening of the strong phenomena is forecast for the west during the night of Wednesday, 24-12-2025 to Thursday, 25-12-2025, and in the other areas on the afternoon of Christmas Day.

Specifically, locally heavy rains and storms are expected:

• In the Ionian from the evening hours today, Tuesday 23-12-2025, until late tomorrow night, Wednesday 24-12-2025 (Christmas Eve).
• In Epirus, western Thessaly (regional units of Karditsa and Trikala), western and central mainland Greece (regional units of Aetolia-Acarnania, Evrytania, and Phocis), and western Peloponnese from tomorrow, Wednesday 24-12-2025, midday until the early hours of Christmas Day (Thursday 25-12-2025).
• In Western Macedonia, temporarily, during the night of Christmas Eve.
• In Central Macedonia from early afternoon Wednesday, 24-12-2025, until the afternoon of Christmas Day.
• In Eastern Macedonia and the islands of the northeastern Aegean from tomorrow, Wednesday 24-12-2025, evening until the afternoon of Christmas Day.
