MIT finds that six of the 10 most famous people ever were Greek

MIT's interactive system allows users to find the most famous people in their country at any given time or in the world over the last 6,000 years

Pantheon, the Macro Connections new project from the MIT’s Media Lab, analyzed data on cultural production from 400 BC to 2010. The search for the top 10 most famous people in the world over the past 6000 years were Greek.

1. Aristotle
2. Plato
3. Jesus Christ
4. Socrates
5. Alexander the Great
6. Leonardo Da Vinci
7. Confucius
8. Julius Caesar
9. Homer
10. Pythagoras

The Pantheon website rankings allow people to see the most famous people and their backgrounds by place of birth and domain.
