On the occasion of the anniversary of the seven-year junta, which followed the 1967 Greek coup d’état led by a group of colonels on 21 April 1967, the Athens concert Hall (Megaron) presents for the first time a musical tribute to the songs banned or censored by the colonels’ dictatorship.

Manolis Mitsias, with his expressive voice, rich in memories, accompanied by a Greek popular music ensemble and an audiovisual script designed by leading Greek director Pantelis Voulgaris, will remind us of “what must never be forgotten”.

The Greek military junta of 1967–74, commonly known as the Regime of the Colonels was a series of right-wing military juntas that ruled Greece following the 1967 Greek coup d’état led by a group of colonels on 21 April 1967. The dictatorship ended on 24 July 1974 under the pressure of the Turkish invasion of Cyprus.
