Mountainous Dimitsana in Arcadia, the Peloponnese, is just 3 hours away by car from Athens and easy to visit thanks to the Athens-Tripoli highway. Its stone-built houses and mountain scenery make it ideal for a year-round break. It was an important village during the Greek War of Independence.
