Maria Karystianou intervened regarding the conflicts in the Middle East, stressing that the situation is difficult and requires calm.

In particular, in her post she underlines that the “Ministry of Foreign Affairs must, in cooperation with our embassies in the countries involved, do whatever is necessary so that those trapped can be evacuated and return safely to Greece.”

“The situation is very difficult and requires calmness, prudence, and above all a preventive strategy and preparation,” she adds.

“171+ reasons for peace… Our minds and souls are with the children, with all the civilian population, with everyone suffering from the hardships of war, and with the Greeks trapped in the Middle East.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs must, in cooperation with our embassies in the countries involved, do whatever is necessary so that they can be evacuated and return safely to Greece.
The situation is very difficult and requires calmness, prudence, and above all preventive strategy and preparation.
War only brings suffering. Peace is the greatest act of strength and responsibility.
