Emergency traffic measures will be in effect in Athens on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, and Wednesday, March 25, 2026, due to the parades celebrating the National Anniversary of March 25, 1821.
The measures include traffic stoppages and parking restrictions on major central roads, aiming to ensure the smooth conduct of the events.
Tuesday, March 24, 2026 (Student Parade)
Temporary and gradual traffic stoppages will begin at 10:00 a.m., along with a ban on stopping and parking from 06:00 a.m. until the end of the events, on the following avenues and streets:
- Vasilissis Amalias Avenue (entire length, both directions, including connecting streets up to the first parallel road)
- Vasilissis Sofias Avenue (between Sekeri Street and Vasilissis Amalias Ave., direction toward Syntagma Square)
- Vasilis Georgiou I Street (entire length)
- Eleftheriou Venizelou (Panepistimiou) Street (entire length and connecting streets up to the first parallel road)
- Vasilissis Olgas Avenue (entire length)
Also closed:
- Syngrou Avenue (between Ath. Diakou and Dionysiou Areopagitou Streets, direction toward Syntagma Square)
It is noted that on Wednesday, March 25, student parades will also take place in municipalities across Attica, where traffic police will implement necessary measures.
Wednesday, March 25, 2026 (Military Parade)
Gradual traffic stoppages and parking bans will apply from 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23 until the end of events on Wednesday, March 25, on the following streets (including connecting streets up to the first parallel road):
- Achilleos (between Karaiskaki Square and Thermopylon Street, both directions)
- Lenorman (entire length, both directions)
- Kolokynthous (entire length)
- Vourvachi (entire length)
- Petmeza (entire length)
- Kallirois (between Vouliagmenis Ave. and Frantzi Street, both directions)
- Karolou (entire length, both directions)
- Marni (entire length, both directions)
- Anth/gou St. Regkoukou (entire length, both directions)

- From 00:00 Tuesday, March 24 until 19:30 Wednesday, March 25:
Closure of the unnamed road leading from Lycabettus Ring Road to Lycabettus Hill - From 00:00 Wednesday, March 25 until the end of events, traffic stoppages and parking bans will apply to major central locations, including:

Additional restrictions will apply on Anth/gou St. Regkoukou Street (entire length, both directions and connecting streets) from 00:00 Wednesday, March 25 until the end of events.
