The latest data recovered by the Germanwings flight’s black box sheds new light to what might have happened.
According to the Daily Mail, the French experts’ data publicized on Wednesday has evidence that Andreas Lubitz tried to recover manual control of the aircraft, shortly before the crash.
Just 93 seconds before the Airbus slammed into the mountainside, the black box data showed that the 27 year-old tried to override the descent mechanism activated earlier, when pilot Patrick Sondenheimer visited the lavatory.
The data states that between 10:39:33 and 10:40:07, a manual control movement was recorded, lasting about 30 seconds, which was unable to deactivate the auto pilot.
This move shows that Lubitz, who was suffering from depression, may have had changed his mind prior to the crash he had condemned it to.
