A stock car accident in England over the weekend has claimed the life of an 11-year-old boy who was behind the wheel, the BBC reported on Monday.

The youth was identified as Keir Millar, who was severely injured at the Lochgelly Raceway on Saturday.

We wish to announce that due to the injuries sustained in an accident at the weekend Keir has sadly passed away,” was a statement issued by the boy’s family.

The statement added: “The family are extremely distraught at the passing of their son. He was a much loved son and brother and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
