Investigations by ELAS officials are in full swing to solve the brutal murder of the 25-year-old man who was found dead yesterday, Wednesday (22/4), in Asymatou Park in Agios Dimitrios.
Investigators are reportedly examining the possibility that the young man died during a fan incident. That’s because his body was found near the souvlaki restaurant where a shooting incident involving people employed for such cases occurred in early January.
However, so far, no evidence has emerged to suggest that the 25-year-old’s death was fan-motivated. Hence, the fan of investigations has been opened in all directions.
The 25-year-old, the son of an ELAS officer, was found dead shortly after 9.30 pm when a foreigner called authorities and reported seeing an unconscious man in the park.
As officers who rushed to the scene determined, the young man was dead and had a knife wound to the heart.
A tragic figure was his father, who, due to his status and the fact that he lived nearby, heard about the incident and arrived at the scene shortly after the DIA men to see what was going on. Thus, without knowing it, he found his own son dead. Reports say that shortly before the tragedy, father and son were at home together watching a basketball game.
An eyewitness and acquaintance of the victim’s family said that an argument preceded the fight and the victim was stabbed in the heart with a knife, and said there are many incidents in the area every day.
“There was a fight inside, they stabbed the child, and because he was covered in blood, he walked a few metres and fell and died. He was stabbed in the heart with a knife,” said a tour guide who knows the family, visibly charged as he said, “he is a young boy, 25 years old.”
