According to police sources cited by protothema.gr, the two friends made the fatal decision together after consuming vodka. They reportedly wrote notes explaining the reasons that led them to it, went up to the rooftop, locked the door, put on headphones to listen to music, and jumped hand-in-hand.

The first student, who died on Tuesday, reportedly left a note saying that she suffered from depression, loved her parents, and that they were not to blame. She also wrote that she feared disappointing them because she would not succeed in the national university entrance exams. “I don’t want to live in this world,” the note reportedly concluded.

Police also reportedly found a diary in the home of the second 17-year-old, in which she wrote that she suffered from depression and feared disappointing her parents because of the university entrance exams.
