The fifth edition of This Is Athens City Festival continues until May 31 with more than 300 events across the city, including concerts, film screenings, exhibitions, guided walks, food and drink festivals, literary gatherings, family events, DJ sets and large open-air parties.

For visitors arriving in Athens now, and for local expats looking for a sharper route through the city’s May calendar, the festival offers a useful way to experience the capital way beyond the standard museum-and-monument circuit.

The This is Athens Festival program in 2026 moves through some of the city’s most fascinating public and cultural spaces: the National Archaeological Museum, Kypseli Municipal Market, Technopolis, the First Cemetery of Athens, the Cavafy Archive, Zappeion, Lycabettus, Theseus Square, Amerikis Square and Athinas Street. The remaining month includes photography, queer cinema, Latin American culture, crime fiction, electronic music, architecture walks, alternative Greek bands, public fitness sessions and neighbourhood street events.
