The Hellenic Parliament approved, by broad majorities, two judicial requests to lift the parliamentary immunity of Course of Freedom leader Zoe Konstantopoulou.
The first request concerned a criminal case stemming from a lawsuit filed by Adonis Georgiadis for defamatory libel. It was approved with 162 votes in favor, 53 against, and 13 abstentions.
The second request related to a complaint filed by judicial officials and was approved with 177 votes in favor, 54 against, and 13 abstentions.
Commenting on PASOK’s decision to abstain from the vote concerning the Georgiadis case, while voting in favor of lifting her immunity in the case involving the judicial complaint, Konstantopoulou accused the party’s leadership at Charilaou Trikoupi of collaborating with Giorgos Floridis, whom, as she said, “Mitsotakis brought back from the political scrap heap.”
