Protestors gathered in the picturesque German resort town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen on the eve of the G7 meeting at a Bavarian Castle on Sunday. The crowd of around 3,600 people gathered to demonstrate, according to police, organizers – however – state it was around 4,500 people. Police clashed with protestors who were shaking tambourines and rattles, shouting: “Brick by brick, wall by wall stop G7 and make the system fall!” Their banners had anti-G7 and pro-Russian President Vladimir Putin slogans.
Police responded with pepper spray, dispersing the marchers who tried to break through their cordon. At least one protestor was carried away by paramedics.
