Eurovision singer Maria-Elena Kyriakou was invited to private ANT1 TV’s famous night show “Ola Beep” to talk about her participation at the famous song contest in Vienna. She said that a moment of shock came during the voting process when the 12-point exchange between Greece and Cyprus did not eventuate. “I was having fun, but when the voting procedure began I was in shock,” she said, adding that she had expected 12 points from her homeland, Cyprus.
She said that the viewers of Cyprus ranked her first in televoting, however the five people from a jury placed her sixth. She stated that five people deciding this result was unfair.
She blamed Austrian broadcaster ORF for deciding her order of appearance after the commercial break that meant that many people failed to see her performance.
