Traffic offenders were once again targeted by the Attica Traffic Police over the past week, as part of extensive operations aimed at preventing road accidents. Officers carried out more than 26,000 breathalyzer tests and arrested 41 drivers, 17 of whom were found to be under the influence of alcohol.
Specifically, during the period 15/ to 22/6, the Traffic Police conducted 26,671 breathalyzer checks, recorded 292 violations, and arrested 17 drivers who were under the influence of alcohol with readings above 0.60 mg/l.

During the same checks, a total of 9,606 additional violations were recorded, including speeding, failure to wear a protective helmet, use of a mobile phone while driving, traffic light violations, and driving without a valid license, among others.
In addition, 999 vehicles were immobilized, of which 148 were towed, while 436 driving licenses and 1,382 vehicle registration certificates were confiscated.
Checks for driving under the influence of alcohol will continue with the same intensity.
