39-year-old woman found murdered near Kyiv had returned to Ukraine to collect €130,000 bounty over Monaco bombing

Investigators are examining evidence from the basement of one of the suspects, which has raised the possibility that Anastasia Berezovska may have been tortured, as well as the final video showing her before allegedly detonating the bomb targeting Ukrainian oligarch Vadym Yermolaiev

New details have emerged in the mystery surrounding the Monaco explosion and the woman accused of carrying it out, who was later found murdered near Kyiv.

According to Ukrainian media reports, Anastasia Berezovska allegedly detonated the explosive device in order to collect a €150,000 bounty reportedly placed on Ukrainian oligarch Vadym Yermolaiev, who was killed in the Monaco blast.

The Ukrainian news website Strana reported that Berezovska was paid €7,000 for the attack and an additional €4,300 for expenses, although it remains unclear where the remaining money went.

According to the same source, the funds were transferred to cryptocurrency wallets and bank accounts belonging to the 39-year-old Ukrainian woman.

Kyiv’s security service also announced that Berezovska had been in contact with the two men arrested over her murder, stating that “both men made money transfers” to the 39-year-old.

The two suspects arrested over the murder of the 39-year-old woman

One of the two suspects, an active-duty officer from the Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine’s Defence Ministry, is reportedly said to have claimed that he acted alone and without informing his agency.

What has not yet been clarified is what happened inside the basement of the home belonging to the former police officer who was arrested over the 39-year-old’s murder.

Images recorded and released by authorities have raised the possibility that the room may have been used as a torture chamber. The footage shows a mattress with blood stains, two axes, a pickaxe, a tarp spread across the floor and a large bag.

The final video of Berezovska

Meanwhile, security camera footage published by the French website L’Actu reportedly shows some of the final images of Berezovska before she allegedly activated the bomb targeting the Ukrainian oligarch.

The footage appears to show the 39-year-old Ukrainian woman entering a shop in the French town of Beausoleil, located directly on the border with Monaco, just hours before the explosion, where she purchased a portable phone charger.

According to a shop employee, the woman “did not speak any English at all” and did not raise any suspicions, as she appeared “completely normal.”
