New Democracy MP for Chios, Notis Mitarakis, is returning to his duties as parliamentary spokesperson of New Democracy, following the filing of his case by the European Public Prosecutor’s Office.
The development comes after the decision of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office to archive the case concerning him in relation to OPEKEPE, determining that the necessary indications had not emerged to continue the specific procedure.
Mr. Mitarakis had resigned from his position as parliamentary spokesperson on April 3, due to the involvement of his name in the investigation into the OPEKEPE case. On the same day, ND Secretary Kostas Skrekas had also announced his resignation.
