Speaker of the House Zoe Konstantopoulou publicized the daily agenda of the meeting of the Plenary on Sunday. It was posted to Saturday’s agenda on its website and will vote on the referendum at 7 p.m. 151 deputies need to approve the motion for a referendum before it can be put to the people.

Characteristically, it is stated that whoever rejects the creditors’ proposals will vote DISAPPROVE/NO and whoever agrees that the proposals should be approved should vote APPROVE/YES on July 5. The plenary discussion will take place according to article 44 paragraph 2 code a of the Greek Constitution and Regulation 115 of Greek Parliament.

Constitutional lawyers are concerned as to whether Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras’ call for a referendum is constitutional. Former socialist PASOK leader Evangelos Venizelos was adamantly against the call for a referendum. He speaks of an attempted coup. “The real question is yes or no to Europe and the euro. Every citizen must respond to this,” says Venizelos.
