The United States will declare the Strait of Hormuz U.S. territory, Donald Trump said on Friday, without providing details on how this could be done, other than saying it would happen “very soon.”

In a speech, he also addressed Iran and the situation on the front lines of the war, which began nearly six months ago.

Among other things, Trump made this claim regarding the “annexation” of the strait.

He also said: “What we are doing is a great service to the world, not just to us, but to the world.”

As for the war’s impact on fuel prices — an issue that always hits Americans hard — Trump showed no willingness to apologize:

“When you have to pay a little more for your gasoline, I will never apologize. I did the right thing.”

He further explained that “a very evil country cannot have nuclear weapons.”
