A fire that broke out at midday on Wednesday, 19 August, in forest land at the “Aftia” site in Vovousa, in the municipality of Zagori, Ioannina, is still burning strongly.

Twelve firefighters have rushed to the area and are tackling the blaze, along with a ground crew from the 5th Special Forest Fire-fighting Unit (EMODE) and two vehicles. A Fire Service helicopter is carrying out water drops from the air.
