Lindsay Clancy’s ex-husband, Patrick Clancy, is speaking publicly for the first time after the trial of the mother over the murder of their three children was declared a mistrial and a new hearing was scheduled. As the father revealed in part of an interview he gave to CBS’s “60 Minutes,” he still talks to his children, as it helps him overcome the pain of this tragedy.

It is recalled that on January 24, 2023, the 36-year-old former nurse strangled 5-year-old Cora, 3-year-old Dawson, and 8-month-old Callan in the basement of their home in Massachusetts. The case shocked the United States and the entire world.

The trial of Lindsay Clancy, who was charged with three counts of first-degree murder, began on July 20, 2026, and lasted nearly six weeks, but concluded without a verdict. After a marathon of deliberations, the jurors were unable to reach a unanimous decision on the defendant’s fate, and the trial therefore ended in a mistrial. In fact, she came very close to being acquitted, as only one juror voted against acquitting her. The jury’s final vote was 11 in favor of acquittal and one against. The jury deliberated for more than 38 hours over a period of seven days before informing Judge William Sullivan of Plymouth that it had been unable to reach a verdict. Sullivan formally declared the trial a mistrial on September 4, 2026, while the next hearing has been scheduled for September 29.

Although Lindsay admitted to killing her children, her lawyer argues that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time and, therefore, was unable to distinguish right from wrong and thus bears no criminal responsibility for the killings. Surprisingly, Lindsay received overwhelming support by extremist feminist groups.

Shockingly, since the beginning of the trial, 38-year-old Patrick, who remarried in April and now lives in New York, has received numerous threats and has been the target of disinformation campaigns carried out by some feminist influencers who accuse him of the murders of the three children. “Over the past several months, Patrick Clancy and his family have been subjected to a relentless, escalating and devastating smear campaign,” his lawyer, Howard Cooper, told Boston 25 News. As he stated, “this disinformation campaign has been started and promoted by insignificant celebrities, so-called ‘influencers,’ and outright conspiracy theorists, who appear determined to boost their profiles on social media and their potential earnings by posting things they know are outright lies, such as that Patrick was somehow involved in the deaths of his young children, as well as other vile allegations.” Cooper left open the possibility of taking legal action against those responsible for spreading these falsehoods.
