Shots were fired shortly after midnight on Friday at a food and drink establishment in the Agios Panteleimonas area, resulting in a 10-year-old girl of Albanian origin being injured. She was inside the establishment at the time of the shooting.

According to initial information, the incident occurred at around 23:50 at 32 Agorakritou Street, when unidentified individuals travelling in a car drove past the “Amora” café and opened fire at the front of the establishment.

The 10-year-old daughter of the café owner was injured in the left leg, in the calf area, by the gunfire. The child was immediately taken to the Children’s Hospital by her mother.

Investigation into the assailants

Initial information indicates that four people were inside the vehicle and fired from within the car before leaving the scene. At the time of the attack, 10 customers, all foreign nationals, were inside the café.

The car used in the attack was reportedly found burned a short time later in the Aspropyrgos area.

It has not yet been established whether the child was injured by a bullet or a fragment, while all evidence is being examined to identify the assailants and determine the motive for the attack.

According to information available so far, the girl’s life is not in danger. Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
