A 20-year-old woman has died in Thessaloniki after taking the psychoactive drug MDMA. A 20-year-old man who took the substance with her has been arrested in connection with the case.

Specifically, in the early hours of Saturday (10 October), the 20-year-old man was at a licensed premises in eastern Thessaloniki with the woman, who was the same age. The pair obtained the substance from another unidentified individual.

After taking the drug, the young woman lost consciousness and was taken to a hospital in Thessaloniki, where she died in the early hours of the same day.

The arrested man will be brought before the competent prosecutor.
