A “ressurection” for the real estate market since, after six months of procrastination, deferrals and reversals, the infamous decrees for the new capital gains tax on property sales were signed, creating the conditions to start buying and selling again. On Tuesday, when the decisions are formalized, a memo is expected to circulate in order to launch the online application through which the capital gains tax for contracts can be declared. When notaries are updated, the first contracts can be expected next Friday.

It remains critical, however, whether notaries accept the new regime to lifting the embargo in the conclusion of contracts Indications given by the Finance Ministry are encouraging, because, unlike the previous regime -which was never implemented due to reactions- there is no longer provided a responsibility of notaries on irregularities in the tax calculations, if they are not aware of the correct data from the operators of the transaction.
