The National Observatory of Athens (NOA) was established in 1842 by Greek benefactor from Vienna George Zinas. The Observatory is divided into three main institutes: 1. The Institute of Astronomy, 2. The Institute of Astrophysics, and 3. The Institute of Space Application and Remote Sensing.
