A 57-year-old driver has been arrested in Grevena after police found him driving under the influence of alcohol for the second time in just a few months. He was fined €2,000, had his driving licence revoked for seven years, and had his vehicle’s registration documents and number plates confiscated for six months.
The man was arrested on Saturday evening, 17 October, during targeted traffic checks in the Grevena area. Officers from the Grevena Traffic Police Department stopped him while he was driving and subjected him to a breathalyser test. The test showed that he was over the legal alcohol limit, and his vehicle was immediately taken off the road.
Further investigation established that the 57-year-old was a repeat offender, having previously been caught driving under the influence of alcohol on 20 May 2026.
The prescribed administrative penalties were imposed, and the Grevena Traffic Police Department drew up a case file against him.
The arrested man was brought before the Grevena Public Prosecutor.
