The National Archaeological Museum’s Festival runs through to July 30 with free concerts, theater, dance performances and film screenings. Favorite artists will entertain the audience with Myronas Stratis, Isaiah Matiaba, and Nikos Portokaloglou, while several music ensembles of the Municipality of Athens collaborate with prominent artists and they promise unique musical theme nights.

Art lovers of theater, dance and film are invited to enjoy unique performances by renowned artists.

Tuesday, July 21

Concert with Taki Soukas accompanied by a six-member orchestra and Lena Alkaiou.

Thursday, July 23

Shadow puppet performance “Karagiozis conquers Athens”

Friday, July 24

Tribute to Mimis Plessas by the Greek Music Workshop. Performers: Fide Koksal, Spyros Kleissas, Dora Louizou. Piano: Nassos Sopylis.

Saturday, July 25

“Carmen” by Georges Bizet, presented in concert form by the Symphony Orchestra and Athens Choir. With the participation of prominent soloists from the world of opera. Musical direction: Eleftherios Kalkanis.

Sunday, July 26

Theatrical performance “When everything had a soul” directed by A.

Moschonas. Starring: C. Kapetanakos and E. Pyrini. Musical direction:

K. Maska.

Monday, July 27

Canto General Concert by Pablo Neruda on the occasion of the 90th birthday of the great composer Mikis Theodorakis. With the participation of the choir “Coeur du Canto” from Brittany. Cooperation with the Athens Festival.

Tuesday, July 28

Film screening “Barry Lyndon” by Stanley Kubrick (1972), as part of the 5th Athens Open Air Film Festival.

Wednesday, July 29

Theatrical performance “Socrates Now” starring the Emmy-winning actor Yannis Simonides
