The Empire State Building in New York City hosted a spectacular video projection over its 33 floors. The video was created by Greek-American photographer/documentary filmmaker Louie Psihoyos, founder of the Oceanic Preservation Society. The purpose of the film was to cast the spotlight on the mass exteinction of thousands of animal species and was repeated every 15 minutes from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. and was visible from 20 blocks away.
