Aniston-Theroux ditch big, fat Greek wedding for secret ceremony and head to Bora Bora

Greeks hoped for an Aegean wedding but there's not even a Greek island holiday

Newsroom August 7 08:58

There were rumors of a Greek wedding, but in the end Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux, aged 46 and 44 respectively, tied the knot in a secret ceremony in their own Bel Air mansion in Los Angeles. Guests included Aniston’s Friends friend, co-star Lisa Kudrow as well as Howard Stern, Chelsea Handler, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski.

No sooner did they tie the knot on Wednesday that they jetted off to Bora Bora for their honeymoon with Handler and other friends.

The couple became romantically involved during the filming of Wanderlust in 2011 and got engaged a year after. Since then they had been dodging speculation as to where and when the wedding would be with Greece being a strong contender.

The wedding was Theroux’s first, but Aniston had previously been married to Brad Pitt from 2000 through to 2005. Pitt married Angelina Jolie in a secret ceremony in France a year ago.

When Pitt married Aniston it was a large and lavish affair so it is interesting that both stars chose something more intimate and meaningful for the second time round.
