AEGEAN airlines are spreading their wings to new destinations – Summer season flights

In 2024, the company will offer 19.5 million seats in 47 countries and 155 destinations

AEGEAN airlines are expanding thier destinations to the UAE and Saudi Arabia and strengthening thier presence in markets like Cyprus, Turkey, Italy, Spain, and Portugal as it nears 25 years in the aviation industry. In 2024, the airline will offer 19.5 million seats across 47 countries and 155 destinations. CEO Dimitris Gerogiannis emphasized the vision of founder Theodoros Vassilakis and strategic directions from Eftichios Vassilakis, highlighting the company’s commitment to growth and service.

AEGEAN airlines have invested in a new training and maintenance center, with four simulators now operational. The airline is also relocating its technical base at Athens Airport. Expansion plans include new long-haul destinations and four upgraded A321neo aircraft, arriving in 2026-2027. The fleet will grow from 46 to 50 Airbus aircraft.

Network Director Yiannis Rasoglou noted efforts to reduce seasonality, with a 6% increase in seats for summer 2024. The summer schedule includes new routes to Dubai, Sarajevo, Palermo, and Vilnius. Thessaloniki’s base has expanded to 20 destinations. Deputy Pricing Policy Director Pepi Stamati reported a 6% increase in available seats and an 80% occupancy rate from November to March, with similar occupancy rates for international routes and certain summer destinations maintained in the winter schedule.
