Divers of the Indonesian Navy took advantage of the milder weather and resumed their efforts to identify parts of the AirAsia plane that went down, specifically the black boxes.

Ships and aircraft are conducting a search to identify the wreckage of Airbus A320-200, and have expanded the search area, while helicopters cover coastal areas.

The Meteorological Service of Indonesia announced on Saturday that bad weather may have significantly contributed to the airplane crash, which dragged 162 passengers and crew to their death. The bad weather made the task of locating and rescuing anyone extremely difficult.

Both flight recorders are located at the rear of the aircraft, close to its tail, but it has not hitherto been clear whether it is amongst the findings identified on the seabed.
