The Danish authorities are on high alert following a failed missile launch on a navy ship. The event has caused airspace and shipping lanes shutdown near a key shipping lane off the Danish coast.
The country’s Maritime Authority has issued a warning to ships to avoid part of the Great Belt strait due to the risk of falling missile fragments. Ships were asked to drop anchor if necessary.
In a statement, the Danish military said the missile problem occurred “during a scheduled test where the missile launcher is activated and cannot be deactivated.”

Just to add to Denmark’s warship problems, a #Harpoon missile booster has activated on a ship in port and the authorities are advising nearby ships to drop anchor. https://t.co/Szudk2ybOz

“Until the missile launcher is deactivated, there is a risk the missile could launch and fly a few kilometres away,” the Army added. It handed over a map of the area off the coast of Corsor city.
