Conservative radio host Alex Jones on Monday sued the House Jan. 6 select committee in an effort to block the panel from forcing him to testify and obtaining his phone records with regards to his alleged involvement in the January 6th protests which lead to the subsequent entry into the Capitol Hill of hundreds of pro-Trump protesters.

The lawsuit Jones filed revealed he also plans to exercise his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination.

The legal action by Alex Jones, who has been banned by all social media platforms, comes a month after the House panel subpoenaed the Infowars host and other close Trump allies who are alleged to have been implicated in the planning of the rallies leading up to the deadly Capitol riot.

The committee previously claimed Jones facilitated a donation to cover what he described as 80% of funding for the rally.
The panel added at the time that it expected him to “cooperate fully with our effort to get answers for the American people.”
