Bad weather Daniel: PM Mitsotakis remarks on floods and state support measures (video)

The measures will move along three axes, immediate support measures to cover the first basic needs, support and rehabilitation measures for property and infrastructure, but also for flood/fire protection

Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis presented the framework of state support for the flood-stricken people in central Greece in a press conference in Larissa.

“The state will be by the side of the affected citizens and rapidly”, the prime minister said in his remarks, saying that tomorrow the platform will be opened.

Farmers and livestock farmers will also be covered through ELGA, “we will be by their side every step of the way for the process, without a lot of red tape.”

“On Tuesday I will be in Strasbourg leading a team, where I will be in talks with the President of Ursula von der Leyen, about European assistance for bad weather, which is also related to climate change. The situation also requires Europe to rise to the occasion”, Mitsotakis said.

The outline of the support program will be specified by Mr. Triandopoulos – for the direct support measures – and Mr. Livanios, for the funds and means to be allocated to the municipalities of Thessaly and the Region.

The measures will move along three axes, immediate support measures to cover the first basic needs, support and rehabilitation measures for property and infrastructure, but also for flood/fire protection, such as a comprehensive reconstruction plan for the areas hit by the bad weather Daniel.
