Andreas Loverdos visited him stating, “the conviction to two years in prison is tangible evidence that the rule of law does not exist in Albania”

Today, the president of the ‘Democrats’ party, Andreas Loverdos, visited the Fier prison, where he met with Fredi Belleris.

Belleris explained to Andreas Loverdos that he is being asked to resign from his position as the elected mayor of Himara in order to be released.

“I won’t compromise. I do not consent to any such agreement”, were his exact words to the president of the Democrats.

As he exited the prison, Mr. Loverdos once again pointed out that “the conviction of Belleris to two years in prison is not only unfair but also tangible evidence that the rule of law does not exist in Albania”.
