Brazilian beauty pageant ends in brawl (Video)

The angry runner-up justified her actions by claiming her rival had bought her way to the title

Beauty pageants are usually associated with moving moments and tears of happiness. However, this was clearly not the case at the recent Miss Amazonas contest, as the crowning ceremony ended in a brawl among the contestants.

23-year-old Sheislane Hayalla, a runner-up in the pageant, simply refused to accept her loss when Carolina Toledo, 20, was announced the winner of Miss Amazonas 2015 in Manaus, northern Brazil, on Friday.

The distraught beauty snatched the crown off the winner’s head and threw it to the ground before storming away while the crowd applauded.

The angry runner-up justified her actions by claiming her rival had bought her way to the title and didn’t deserve to win. In fact, she posted the following message on Facebook the following day: “I wanted to express my disapproval of the actions shown in preparation of Miss Amazonas 2015. I don’t regret having protested. I wanted something clean and honest.”
