Bulgarian media reported that the area was difficult to access as the Greek skiers were off-piste and did not have an avalanche device, which is mandatory when going off-piste.

More than 25 mountain rescuers with 4 dogs are involved in the operation to locate the missing person. The avalanche was about 150 meters in size and almost 30 meters wide.

All slopes in Borovitch are closed at the moment, as there is a very high avalanche risk.
