Conde Nast Traveler urges tourists to rescue Greece

Tourists to Greece can get better deals and give the economy a boost in the process

Famous travel website Conde Nast Traveler followed the Guardian’s footsteps and invited readers to visit Greece despite the crisis in an article titled “Why we’re still travelling to Greece this summer.” Journalist Mark Ellwood noted that the country is in dire need of tourism and urged travelers not to cancel trips.

The writer compares Greece to Thailand after the 2004 tsunami where tourists were mocked for staying after the natural disaster and yet their presence is what contributed towards the country’s reconstruction. Ellwood states that booking a trip to Greece isn’t solely a “do-gooding” gesture either as the prices of hotels is even lower.

Ellwood states that tourists should take cash with them and to not be biased when dealing with the people.
