Deutsche Welle: Schäuble has not abandoned the idea of Grexit

Last month, Mr. Schäuble wanted to pause the progress of the discussions asking for more commitments from Greece

Amid the terror attacks and the refugee crisis, the Greek debt is not currently at the center of the international interest. However, this does not mean it’s been solved and it won’t be discussed anymore, according to Deutsche Welle. The same goes for the concerns of German Finance Minister Wolfgang Schäuble on Greece.

Last month in the midst of the negotiations between the Greek government and the institution, Mr. Schäuble wanted to pause the progress of the discussions asking for more commitments from Greece.

According to Deutsche Welle, Mr. Schäuble has not abandoned the idea of a Grexit, although it has already been decided a new aid package of 86 billion euros and the new government in Athens shows a great commitment to the implementation of reforms. The only thing that has changes is that the German Finance Minister seems to have much better and more effective communication with the current Greek Finance Minister Euclid Tsakalotos than he did with Yanis Varoufakis.
