Dragasakis: Ready to compromise but not to betray mandate

We say “Yes” to reforms but “No” to austerity – We want to cooperate with European institutions in order to continue to be consistent with our financial obligations

In his interview to “Les Echos” newspaper, the Greek Deputy Prime Minister Yiannis Dragasakis said the Greek government is ready to make compromises, without however, betraying the mandate from the recent election.

Specifically, Dragasakis “Some political forces in Europe refuse to acknowledge the Greek election outcome. We are ready to make compromises but we will not betray the people’s decision. We say yes to reforms but no to austerity”.

“So far we have honored all our financial obligations but in order to continue to do so, we want the European institutions’ cooperation … the Greek government has not yet received the necessary cooperation in order to achieve stability”.
